Australian Currency Travel Tips
The Tourist Refund Scheme allows you to claim a refund of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Wine Equalisation Tax (WET) that you pay on certain goods purchased in Australia. To claim this tax refund your purchase must have a minimum value of A$300, be purchased no more than 60 days before departing and be worn or carried as hand luggage on your flight, as well as meeting other criteria. By applying for the refund you can save yourself a few dollars.
