The Moroccan Dirham is the official currency of Morocco, and it is divided into 100 centimes. While you might still come across centime coins, they are rarely used for everyday purchases. Dirham coins come in denominations such as 1, 2, 5 and 10, and banknotes range from 20 to 200. You’ll often see it written as MAD or sometimes DH to set it apart from other currencies.

Please note: we hold most major currencies like the Euro and US Dollar in stock, so we anticipate these orders will be ready in-store within 1 working day. Other currencies may need to be ordered in and should be in-store within 4 working days.

When to buy Moroccan Dirhams?

How to complete my Click & Collect order?

When you are notified that order is ready for collection, please bring the following with you to complete your Click & Collect order in-store:
– Your order confirmation email (printed or on your phone)
– Your payment method
– Valid photographic ID (passport or driving licence)
– Proof of address (utility bill or bank statement dated within the last 90 days)

Please note: most of our own stores accept both cash and card, but some of our agents only accept cash. Before completing your order in-store, please check the payment details information on your order confirmation emails or by calling the store directly.

How many Moroccan Dirhams can I take into Morocco?

You’re allowed to bring up to 2,000 MAD (Moroccan dirhams) in cash into Morocco without any formalities. This is the official limit for local currency – anything above that isn’t permitted for import.
